The Challenge
Our challenge in designing the Squirrel app was to make the users understand that different from other social media apps, everything was based on the concept of communities: publications, events, friendships, etc.

The Solution
Research is where it all started, we looked at the competitors digital designs and also looked at how we could solve the issue listed in the challenge above. In 6 months, we researched deeply, iterated quickly, went through several challenges and successfully designed the app with some dynamic sidebar features the enabled the users to discover and interact with new communities. We also introduced a global feed that called “Stream” where the user could check all posts from all communities at once.

Low Fidelity Screens
After considering the features involved and the overall functionality, we designed the template of the website. We transformed our data into wireframe structures known as low fidelity screens and further refined the information architecture screen by screen.

Design System
We developed a thoughtful Design System that it is able to replicate elements quickly while keeping consistency across the product. We designed it in an atomic and scalable form, which allowed the entire product team to work and cooperate easily.
